Stilt Studios Secures US$10M Series A to Emerge in Global Markets

Stilt Studios, a visionary manufacturer of sustainable, modular homes based in Bali, Indonesia, has successfully closed a financing round, raising an impressive US$10 million in a combination of debt and equity. Notable among the investors is Christian Hymer, the former owner of Hymer, Germany’s market leader in motor homes.

The primary goal for Stilt Studios with this infusion of capital is global expansion. The company is set to revolutionize the way homes are built, emphasizing sustainability, modularity, and innovation. A significant part of the investment will be allocated to further develop the platform, integrate AI technology, and enhance smart home capabilities. In a bold move, they are also embarking on their first full-scale residential project.

The company’s foray into the Australian market is already in progress, with construction set to begin later this year. Additionally, Stilt Studios has several projects in the advanced planning stages across various international locations. It comes as no surprise, given that the majority of their current inquiries, nearly 1,000 and counting, are pouring in from Europe, Australia, and the United States, in addition to their home country, Indonesia.

Founded in 2019 by German serial entrepreneur Florian Holm, Stilt Studios employs a unique building system that allows for the configuration of various structures, including cabins, studios, and multi-storey family homes, using standardized components. This approach has been likened to assembling Lego bricks. To maintain their commitment to sustainability, the company employs high-quality teak and bengkirai wood as the primary building materials.

What sets Stilt Studios apart is their incredible efficiency. Traditional construction methods take up to a year or longer, but Stilt’s modular system reduces installation time to just one to two months per house. The innovation doesn’t stop there; these homes have an impressively small carbon footprint, at least 50 percent smaller than comparable conventional buildings, and they substantially reduce noise disturbances during construction.

These homes are an excellent fit for resort and residential developers. Their modular design also makes them suitable for various other applications, including commercial spaces.

Stilt Studios has been on a fast-paced journey, with over 50 homes built, 80 percent of which were completed within the last 12 months. Their flagship project, the Family Village Canggu, is a testament to their commitment to quality and sustainability.

To further enhance the customer experience, Stilt Studios is planning to incorporate AI into their platform. Customers can look forward to AI-generated walk-throughs, allowing them to configure and virtually explore their dream homes or resorts. This technological leap aims to make high-quality homes more affordable, revolutionizing the industry.

Florian Holm, the visionary behind Stilt Studios, believes that this is just the beginning of a transformation in the construction market. He envisions a future where AI and modular production will make high-quality homes more accessible, comparing the potential shift to how the car industry evolved at the start of the 20th century.

Stilt Studios is poised to leave an indelible mark on the global construction industry, setting new standards for sustainability, innovation, and affordability in housing solutions.
