The investment was spearheaded by Deciens Capital, with notable participation from Joe Mansueto (Morningstar’s founder), Caruso Ventures, NKM Capital, and the University of Chicago Endowment.

Pippin Title is renowned for its comprehensive title search capabilities covering all 50 states, delivering standardized data output for residential and commercial real estate transactions. The company empowers insurers, banks, and mortgage service firms with its cutting-edge title ordering and tracking platform, automated title searches, and an extensive nationwide network of title searchers.

This funding round marks a strategic move for Pippin Title to expand its Pippin Green initiative. Leveraging its proprietary title data, Pippin Green focuses on renewable energy projects, including wind farms, solar farms, and electric vehicle charging stations.

CEO Bharat Das highlighted Pippin’s adaptability, stating, “When the mortgage market faced challenges, we found innovative ways to utilize our data in a growing sector – green energy.” Pippin has already formed partnerships with a wind energy company boasting 3.1 million customers and a solar power company operating in over 20 states.
