Dubai Municipality Revolutionizes Building Permits with Cutting-Edge Online System

Dubai Municipality has unveiled a groundbreaking online system for building permits and control services, ushering in a new era of efficiency in the construction industry. Aligned with the updated Dubai Building Code, this system aims to bolster Dubai’s global standing as a technology-driven city. By integrating smart and automated features, including Building Information Modelling (BIM), the platform is set to simplify processes, reduce costs, and elevate the overall quality of services.

Dawoud Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality, expressed enthusiasm for the launch, stating, “Our main objective is to enhance the customer experience, advance the construction industry, and reinforce Dubai’s position as a city of innovation and quality.”

The new system offers a range of features, from streamlined procedures and reduced document requirements to proactive services and automated checks. Mariam Al Muhairi, Acting CEO of the Buildings Regulation and Permits Agency, highlighted the system’s compliance with BIM standards, geographic information systems, and the facilitation of user registration through digital ID.

The initial services on the platform cover new building permits, site preparation processes, self-decoration, and more. The Municipality plans to roll out additional services in phases throughout the year, demonstrating a commitment to continual improvement in the construction sector. Training workshops for consultants and contractors will further ensure seamless integration and utilization of the advanced features, including BIM standards, contributing to the city’s growth and success in the building sector.
