Bimsense PropTech Platform Receives £750K Boost in Funding

UK-based Bimsense has secured an additional £750,000 in funding, marking a significant stride in bolstering its innovative proptech solutions. This investment, part of a round led by NPIF – Mercia Equity Finance, brings the total funding for the company to an impressive £1.8 million.

The infusion of capital comes at a pivotal juncture for Bimsense, as the company gears up to enhance its Operance platform in alignment with the latest regulatory standards. This move mirrors a proactive response to the evolving measures initiated in the construction and building sector.

Founded seven years ago by the pioneering duo Ian Yeo and Scott Pilgrim, Bimsense specializes in the realm of Building Information Modelling (BIM). Their brainchild, Operance, has emerged as a cornerstone in facilitating compliance with the Building Safety Act. This act, a response to the tragic Grenfell Tower incident, aims to fortify safety measures within the industry. Operance has already gained traction among prominent companies like Campden, Basildon, and Harrow, as well as established construction firms including Kier, Higgins, United Living, Vermont, and Rider Levett Bucknall.

The company’s robust growth is evident in its 44% increase in turnover during the financial year concluding in August. With a team of 22 dedicated staff members, Bimsense is poised to expand, forecasting the creation of six new jobs in the coming year. This injection of funding not only amplifies their financial standing but also propels their capacity to innovate, marking a promising trajectory for it and the evolution of safety within the industry.
